about

I am an obsessive Prince fan, one of my favorite albums of his is The Black Album, which has been dubbed by fans as the Funk Bible… it is damn funky! I was very excited to pick up a vinyl of it in echo park and was listening to it a lot while making this album, so I decided to make a tribute to Prince and his funkiness, hence this track. It’s based around the chords in Santosha though it’s very hard to spot that, I just took the basic movements of that and rebuily with a pulsating Juno bass with tons of tweaking, and syncopating it with some slap bass and wah guitar.
