Yang is the active principle in nature that in Chinese cosmology is characterized by creativity, heaven, heat and light. Everything consists of some Yang and Yin, with varying balance, that’s what the dots in the Yin Yang symbol represent. In this album, the dominance is Yang expressed through electronic production, but there are calls back to the Yin album through pianos and strings. Yang takes many of the themes that were established in Yin and builds on them through an electronic music odyssey, experimenting with a palette of sounds ranging from electronica, melodic house and techno and downtempo. Both albums were conceived from meditation and they are intended to connect as a tool for meditation for the listener, just with different energetic emphasis. Yin is the meditation of quiet solitude. Yang is the meditation of presence with environment, connection to humanity and nature in a field dancing. I started writing Yin at the start of the pandemic, and Yang during the first period of easing the lockdowns, and the energy of those situations are reflected in both albums. Yang carries with it a hope for human connection, and a lust for celebrating life.

Like Yin, Yang is also recorded at 432 Hz A note tuning. This is a tuning standard that is said to resonate with living beings and our chakras.
